Ralls Historical Museum has just began a new adventure. We have Pledged our commitment to achieve higher museum standards by joining the City of Ralls and Ralls ISD into our Community of Museum Assessment Program through the American Alliance Museum Assessment Program. Our 3 main goals are: 1) To Improve ability to create collaborations to address community needs. 2) To Improve ability to improve visitor services. 3 To improve ability to meet audience needs through exhibitions and programming.

Ralls Historical Museum houses over 15,000 items that have been loaned to the museum by 650 families. Mr. John R. Ralls was born in 1862 in Monroe Co, Georgia and came from Oklahoma in 1906 to Crosby County with his wife, Dollie Ralls and settled in Emma; which of course was bypassed by the railroad.  Mr. Ralls owned 10,000 acres  and decided to start the town of Ralls as this is where the railroad came through and on towards Floydada.  Many of our displays house items from some of the earlier settlers such as L.A. Wicks, a lawyer from Chicago, Edd McLaughlin, grandson of the banking McLaughlin family since 1912, became the president of the Rotary International and was made part of the office in Tokio, Japan.  We have displays of Indian Artifacts from Wayne Parker, who is related to Quanah Parker, which is on loan from the Pioneer Memorial Museum in Crosbyton. We have displays of some of the old quilts that dates back to the 1800’s, one of which was buried during the Civil War.  We have girl’s and boy’s toys and dolls, knitting, knitting needles and a needlepoint of the Bicentennial.  We have a Party Room which displays many items and furniture from the Ralls family such as a 3 piece set from 1916 and a pump organ, when the family moved to Ralls.  In our Veterans Rooms, we have started with the Civil war/Spanish American War, some items from WWI, uniforms from WWI into WWII, Vietnam War, Korean War, and Desert Storm. We try to keep a current display of all our local veterans and currently serving Military Personnel.  Our Bank Room is the First State Bank and later the First National Bank until it was turned it into our current museum.  Upstairs houses replicas and furniture from the Ralls family of a bedroom, Kitchen, Parlor, Chapel Room, Dry Goods Store, School Room, Funeral Home Room, Western Room, Barber/Beauty Shop, Clubs/Music Room, Drs. & Dentist Room, Agriculture Room and a Blacksmith Shop.
